Oltre noi non andiamo per non rovinarvi la lettura di questa graphic novel Steampunk.

Besides we are not going to not spoil the reading of this graphic novel Steampunk.
The mad genius of Warren Ellis and spectacular pencils Raulo Caceres bring to life an exciting epic in steampunk style. We will see then air pirates, love, honor, courage, new technologies, lots of steam, a lot of electricity and futuristic stuff. An unique work in contemporary comics production.
The original American version is 2010 and was a miniseries of 4 issues printed for “Avatar press,” which at the end of last year decided to reprint the series in a single volume of 128 pages. In Italy go out, for Panini comics publisher, the next March 22; the volume contains, of course, the entire series of this steampunk comic, taking in the facts and the second American edition and bringing it here in Italy.

Venerdì 24 febbraio scorso durante questo festival, dove si sono susseguiti diversi gruppi di realtà territoriali differenti e di differenti generi, alcuni nostri prodi Mercenari STIM hanno portato “il verbo” di Steampunk Italia a Palazzo granaio a Settimo milanese.
Nello specifico, la Creavedove Lady Corvinia Barker, l’Osservatrice Temperance Wrayburn, Doc SANdMAN e Richard Master III.
A livello sonoro siamo partiti con del Metalcore fatto dai “Last breath before
24 th February 2012 during this festival, made it by groups of different territories and different kinds of metal, some of our brave Mercenaries STIM led “the verb” of Steampunk Italia at Palazzo Granaio in Settimo Milanese.
Specifically, the Widowmaker Corvinia Lady Barker, the Observer Wrayburn Temperance, Doc SANdMAN and Master Richard III.

Un film che stordisce sia visivamente che emotivamente e non a caso basato sul libro per bambini di Brian Selznick “The Invention of Hugo Cabret”, vincitore della medaglia Caldecott nel 2008.
A film that is visually stunning and emotionally and based on children’s book by Brian Selznick’s “The Invention of Hugo Cabret”, winner of the Caldecott Medal in 2008.
Hugo, Martin Scorsese‘s latest film, tells the story of the orphan Hugo Cabret, son of a watchmaker, who lives in the depths of a railway station in Paris of the ’30s, where he repaired watches and observes the lives and loves of people coming and going. His dream is to be able to repair an automaton left him as inheritance from his father, tragically missing in a fire. Hugo, alone and bitter, concentrated all his efforts on this clockwork doll, shabby but ingeniously elegant, until his destiny crosses the one of the station’s toy store owner and his goddaughter Isabella.
Hugo, masterfully played by Asa Butterfield (The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas), is in equal parts a little abandoned orphan and a bold and admirable survivor. On Butterfield’s shoulders rest the kaleidoscope of emotion of the whole film and the young actor shines of its own light.
Each of the characters found in Hugo reminds to the audience that, in one way or another, we all like broken clocks, and in the end, all we have are the others. Our daily struggle is to overcome our past and not give in to pain.
Scorsese delivers this message in a stunning beauty, painted with a palette of colors perfectly balanced between brass and steam, sun and snow, in direct contrast with the black and white illustrations on the book by Selznick. The constant movement of gears and pendulums in the world of Hugo mingle with the unstoppable emotions of the boy up to imitate the most fascinating pantomimes of silent film’s era. There is no dialogue really necessary, messages come clearly through an experience extraordinarily delicate and relaxing.
Is it Steampunk? Probably, but without the exaggerated tones like “Look at me, I’m a Steampunk film!”
Scorsese, staunch supporter of the preservation of film heritage, pays homage to the masters of early movies through his love letter to the past using the most futuristic and cutting-edge techniques such as 3D. Whether you are orphans or artists, the themes of this delicate film will strike your heart as to say that we are all irreplaceable many small gears of this great clock called existence.
“I like to imagine that the world is one big machine. You know, machines never have any extra parts. They have the exact number and types of parts they need. So I figure if the entire world is a big machine, I have to be here for some reason, too.” Hugo

Special mention to the actor Christopher Lloyd (the legendary Doc of Back to the Future) in his steam interpretation of The Wizard of Oz, nestled between gears and strange mechanisms.

Il Circo a Vapore
Come annunciato, i Vostri beneamini sabato 18 Febbraio hanno partecipato al “Circo a Vapore” organizzato dal meraviglioso staff del “Barrito” di Torino.
As announced, on Saturday February 18th your beloved attended the “Steam Circus” organized by the wonderful staff of “Barrito” in Turin.
Impossible not to spend a wonderful evening when you’re next personalities like Impressioni Steampunk and The Steam Ghost band (The Ghost Effect), although, unfortunately, the turnout was not the most satisfying, and yet the participants were more than worthy of note, and people showed curiosity and availability compared to the unusual.
In the frame of the circus perfectly set up, the showman Andrea Bochicchio presented the amazing phantasmagoria of Andy Rivieni II who held forth between shots of Samyra and the photo exposure of our photoSIF Serenella Volpe Photography, which together with Giuliano Di Bello – Photographer has also immortalized the bystanders precipitating them in a steampunk universe that will be impossible to forget!
Thanks to all the staff and the organization of “Barrito” for availability, competence, but, above all, for the courtesy shown: we can’t wait to repeat! (altro…)
