We saw sleeping girls, mermaids, warrioress, ladies grappling with frogs, glass slippers, midgets, and thieves of the east, but never a Disney girl with a nice pair of goggles, a refined taste for clothes and the elegant Victorian sweetness to create brass gizmos before launching into crazy adventures.
Perhaps we will never have an animated film with the steampunk “princess” of our dreams…
Console ourselves, however, with beautiful illustrations by Brian Kesinger, story artist at Walt Disney Animation studios. His steam-girls are the perfect point of departure for the princess we would and carry the typically Disney’s feminine traits in steampunk; Brian creates her ladies with ink, then he tinge them with the tone of chamomile and then finishing it all with water colors.
Another famous drawing of the artist is the one with a girl walking with her polyp as guard dog, really fantastic!
