Jackson e le copertine dei romanzi

Il noto regista Peter Jackson (Bad Taste, Brain Dead, Il Signore Degli Anelli La Trilogia, King Kong) ha acquistato i diritti di Temeraire, serie di nove libri di Naomi Novik ambientati in un epoca alternativa in cui le battaglie napoleoniche vengono combattute su armate aeree di draghi.

The renowned director Peter Jackson (Bad Taste, Brain Dead, The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, King Kong) has acquired the rights to Temeraire, a series of nine books by Naomi Novik set in an era where alternative Napoleonic battles are fought on armed aerial dragons.

In addition, between one take and the other on the set of The Hobbit, the director is working with Weta Workshop on a film adaptation of Mortal Engines, the first novel of a post-apocalyptic tetralogy written by Philip Reeve. The series is set in a future where self-propelled cities travel the world eating up the resources of the smaller towns, according to a system called Municipal Darwinism.

It’s not clear whether Jackson will work only as director or he will also produced these movies, the thing that interests us most is that these novels have a Steampunk ground behind them.

Macchine Mortali

Inoltre, fra un ciak e l’altro sul set de Lo Hobbit, il regista sta lavorando con Weta Workshop all’adattamento cinematografico di Macchine Mortali, primo romanzo di una tetralogia post-apocalittica scritta dall’inglese Philip Reeve. La serie è ambientata in un futuro in cui città semoventi percorrono il pianeta fagocitando le risorse dei centri più piccoli, secondo il sistema chiamato con il nome eloquente di Darwinismo Municipale.

Non è ancora chiaro se Jackson si occuperà anche della regia o collaborerà soltanto nei panni di produttore, la cosa che a noi interessa maggiormente è che si tratta di romanzi a sfondo Steampunk.

L’idea di vedere un immensa città muoversi su cingoli è entusiasmante, tenetevi sintonizzati!
